Look no further, this is gem!
We were greeted immediately with professionalism and a glass of wine. It was like arriving at a friends home. Jeff was very helpful with directions and gave many clear tips with transportation, places to visit & dine, etc. This hotel is a 1/2 block from the cable cars & approx. 3 blocks from the BART station. The bartender, a life-long local, was very kind and shared great stories of growing up in SF. We will definetly stay at the Rex on our next visit to SF.

Great place to stay in SF
I had to attend a business conference during the week and my wife and I wanted to spend the weekend together, and Hotel Rex was ideal for both purposes. As I business traveler, I want a clean room, a good shower, close to Moscone Center, and wireless internet. For a weekend with my lover and bride, I want a cool funky hotel with clean rooms in a great location surrounded by the best of SF. Hotel Rex fit the bill perfectly at a good price.

very convient
Great place to stay, small and older but lots of character, rooms were small but we were not in them except to sleep, only a few blocks from the cable cars and lots of restaurants and shopping. Will definitely stay there again. Everyone was Very friendly and helpful, recommended good places to eat and things to do.
