Castle Cecilienhof was built in 1917 by the last German Emperor Wilhelm II for his son Wilhelm and his daughter-in-law Cecilie. The palace, built in the half timbered style of an English country house became famous when it hosted the "big three" Truman, Churchill and Stalin for the "Potsdam Conference" in 1945. Cecilienhof is situated in the middle of an English park named "Neuer Garten" overlooking two lakes. The castle as well as the park is part of the UNESCO world heritage of culture.
