Perfect local for a wedding reception

We extended the " long weekend " in order to visit family. The hotel is a gem-we have always wanted to stay at The Stoneleigh so when the opportunity arose we grabbed it. Staff were very accommodating and friendly . I should mention that valet parking is required .

Highly Recommended!!!: Newly remodeled gem of a hotel

I stayed at the Stoneleigh "back in the day" before the recent renovations, and vowed never to come back. It was that bad!!! But after a recent remodel and full renovation, I have booked 2 rooms on 3 separate occasions when my parents come to town. I live down the street in a highrise on Turtle Creek, but it is a relaxing treat to walk a few blocks to stay at the Stoneleigh . The Stoneleigh has spacious rooms, is beautifully renovated, is full service, has a spa, a bar and a restaurant, and is in a great location. It’s a great hotel! The only downside is the restaurant at breakfast time. Twice we have suffered terrible service for breakfast. However, dinner is another story; I’ve eaten at the restaurant for a work dinner and it is first class. In summary, staying at the Stoneleigh is highly recommended!

Go where the Dallas locals go: just north of downtown in uptown you’ll find McKinney avenue (from Pearl to Blackburn) ending at West Village. This area is a mecca for young professionals who live downtown and uptown, but draws patrons from all over the metroplex. The area has dozens of local restaurants with character (just say "no" to national chain restaurants!): there are neighborhood "hangout" restaurants and pubs, bars of all kinds: sports, wine, and sushi to name a few, coffee shops, breakfast restaurants, and of course some "see and be seen" restaurants; it runs the gamut from inexpensive to high end. There is also great shopping along McKinney and the shops are especially concentrated at West Village. The shops run the spectrum from Ralph Lauren to Brooks Brothers to Gap to local vintage shops. And for high-end shopping, go to the opposite side of the area away from West Village (McKinney at Pearl) to find Stanley Korshak at the Crescent Hotel. Speaking of hotels, if you need a hotel, the area has 3 high end hotels: Hotel Zaza, The Ritz-Carlton and Hotel Crescent Court. It’s a great area!!!

Great stay!

This is our second stay at the Stoneleigh, and both were great. The rooms were lovely and the staff was very attentive. Bolla (the hotel restaurant) is really terrific! The hotel bar is a nice place to have a drink and visit with friends.
