Interesting and Quirky
This is an excellently run hotel were guest are well looked after by a very attentive staff. Our condo, was furnished in an older quirky, island style and was definitely in need of a paint and a little renovation. It was also the furthest from thge ocean in this complex. The cooking facilities were adequate and as no restuarants were within easy walking distance it was necessary to drive to good restaurants either in Kailua or further south on Alii Drive.

Not as nice as expected, but fine
Positives: Location relative to the ocean Shared spaces such as pools and gardens are beautiful Huge windows and great lanai Staff was very helpful Negatives: Location relative to downtown Kailua - 25+ minute walk in the heat with no sidewalk most of the way Air conditioner not up to snuff (not just in our unit, but in our traveling companions’ unit as well) Small, ill-equipped kitchen - ours had essentially a powder-room sized trashcan and almost no utensils If you’re expecting a resort type experience, this isn’t the place. For instance, they have no bar/restaurant on site. That matched our expectations and was just fine, but some people might not like it.

Don’t believe the pictures -- this place is rundown
We were very disappointed in the quality of this hotel. The pictures must be about 30 years old, as our room was falling apart. Couldn’t use the sliding glass doors as they kept falling off the track. The AC didn’t work well--it took about 5 hours to cool down the room on the first night. The AC was only in 1/2 of the suite, so the other 1/2 was always uncomfortable. To make it worse, the management thought it was acceptable to shut down the AC during the day for maintenace--which meant that when you returned at night, your room was about 90 degrees. The fire alarm went off twice during the week we were there -- at 6:15am & 1:30 am. Nice. I can’t believe Expedia would have a desk at this hotel. It is definitely below par. Positives: close to town, nice pool (no saltwater pool though). IF you get a great deal, and don’t care about a run-down room, then this place might be okay just for the pool and the location.
