Would go back.
Like others have said, after reading the reviews of the hotel, I was pretty scared. The hotel was nice. My only complaint about our room was that the sheets/bedding smelled musty. The wait staff at the restaurants were excellent. They always were there to clear the plates. Since we booked with Expedia we had excellent service checking in. There were several people waiting in line, but the Expedia people took us to their separate area and had everything ready for us. It was great!!! We also booked transportation with Best Day through Expedia, and as soon as we got off of the plane the Best Day staff was there to take us to the hotel. No time share people!!! We did tip throughout the stay (5 nights) and it definitely helped with service at the bars. They remembered us (especially at the disco) and went above and beyond...as soon as we came up to the bar, they waited on us, even if there were others they were helping. My only other minor complaint, was that when we were checking out and had to pay for the safe, they didnt have any change at the front desk, even though it was right next to the place where you can exchange dollars for pesos. We ended up giving up a few dollars, no biggie, but thought that was really strange!!! The food was good. Especially the Sushi place. The tacos at the buffet were excellent. Breakfast was good if you had them make an omlette or special order eggs. Lunch was okay. Pop tasted a bit weird. Drinks were good.
It was definitely a cheap way to travel, but everyone should know that the bus system does not go around in a loop. We missed our stop and thought wed get back and they suddenly stopped the bus and told us we had to get off...in a not so good area. Trying to figure out where to go next was a mess, and many of the drivers said they did not speak much English. Luckily, we found a very nice young man outside a administration building who spoke really good English. He told us where to go and what bus to catch. The only time we used pesos was when we went to the flea market and went on the bus.

Survived the Tropical Storm/Hurricane
When we made our stay at the Oasis Cancun it was in the middle of a Tropical Storm/Hurricane. The weather severely limited the use of the cafes and outdoor activities during the stay so we cant give a great review of that. The staff at the hotel were very courteous and helpful. Everyone bent over backwards to make sure our stay was a pleasant one. The drinks were good and the food at the nonbuffet cafes was very good (with the exception of the sushi, good fresh fish, not so good with the sauces and such). I cant say much for the beach as it was underwater the whole time I was there. The worst part of the trip was the intoxicated tourists being combative with staff and each other...
If you are in the area to dive give Mayan Aqua Dive a call... they provided great service and really catered to the diver and made it a great trip!

Terrible
Hotel smelled - we had to request hand towels that should be standard in rooms. Had to request to have my room cleaned.
