Hampton Inn Anchorage

Good Service

The Hampton Inn Anchorage provided us with the service we needed at the end of a long week hunting in Alaska. The shuttle arrived very promptly after we called them from the airport and delivered us to the hotel in minutes. The desk clerk then went above normal service by allowing us to store a box of fish in the chest freezer they have. This is not normally possible but with a little rearranging he made it fit. After having dinner next door we then asked the shuttle to take us downtown for the Halloween festivities. They once again delivered us to our destination and with a phone call picked us up a couple hours later. The room was very neat and very clean. I will definitely stay there again.

Disgusting!

Bathroom had human waste and hairs on toilet seat upon arrival. Moldy and musty. Dirty bed sheets. Would not stay here again.

Great service even included shuttle to anywhere!

Excellent service - breakfast included was great. One of the major points was the free and very accessible shuttle service provided. All we had to do was let the desk know we were ready to go somewhere and the shuttle appeared and when we were ready to return to the hotel, they were only a phone call away. Also the drivers were extremely friendly and acted as "tour" guides as we went through the area. What a great service for a hotel to provide.

Best quality for the money that I’ve found in Anchorage

Anchorage, Alaska hotels typically are either overpriced "high-end" or shabby "economy". Hampton Inn provided high quality and comfort, with a very friendly and accomodating staff for a very reasonable price!

Very Convenient

We were tourist and not familiar with the area so the location of this hotel was very convenient. The staff was extremely courteous and willing to assist us during our stay. I would definitely stay here again.

Try the Sea Galley located directly behind the hotel--the service, as well as the quality and quantity of food, was outstanding.

Would stay here again on next visit

Hotel is centraly located to everything and very convenient. The hotel breakfasts were satisfying with a variety of choices. There were more than enough towels available and have a jacuzzi in the room was a big plus. The only flaw I found was the staff did not appear familar enough with the area to give directions or make recommendations.

Decent hotel for the price

The hotel is satasfactory for the price. There are definately nicer hotels in the area, but they are usually more pricey.

Accomidations fit great with my 2 yr old daughter

Was in Anchorage for a visit with my 2 year old daughter. The breakfast in the mornings was great. The rooms are comfortable and clean.

Good option in mid-town

Nice hotel with large, convenient rooms. Everything worked as it should.

The price was right

The room we had was really quite nice. The bed was a little softer than we’re used to. The coverlet was quite lumpy but kept us warm. Breakfast was okay, a lot of variety. The pool, which was right across from our room was not available - a cleaning problem, and neither was the jacuzzi. The exercise room was also just across the hall. Great location even if we couldn’t use it. The discounted off season price was just right. I would not want to pay full price for what we got.

Hampton Inn was an awesome stay...

I spent my first night in Anchorage at Hampton and it was a real pleasure...from the wonderful greeting at the front desk to the superior comfort of the room and bed. In the morning, they had a well-run, well-stocked breakfast bar with quality foods and good variety--not just the usual unhealthy choices of most hotels. I would definitely recommend Hampton Inn.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Anchorage is a good walking town--there’s lots to see and so easy to get around--but you need to rent a car for at least a couple of days to get to some sights close to town but definitely requiring a drive.

Awesome Hotel!

This is an awesome hotel! It is very high quality in the sense that the everything is 5 star from the hotel service right down to the security. I intend to stay here again and make this my "home away from home". Believe me when I say that this hotel was excellent. I am a very very picky person and expect only the best. You just cannot go wrong with staying at the Hampton Inn.

Best start to an Alaskan Vacation

The folks were friendly and helpful. We were able to get the shuttle bus into town as well as to and from the airport. Good breakfast each morning with excellent variety of choices. Only problem was the blackout curtains didn’t cover below the window sill, so we still has some midnight sunshine.

Great atmosphere and very clean

A good and comfortable hotel indeed.

Not much to do in anchorage in March but the Hampton inn was not disappointed. My wife is kind of picky but even her likes the hotel. Start with the free breakfast: not fancy but ample. Cereal, pastries, 2 hot items(ham, sausage, egg, gravy) daily, biscuits, juice and yogurt. Coffee was good quality: regular, strong and decaf. Tea bags and hot coco are also free. The first day when we came back from a not so excited trip to the zoo(by the way, skip the zoo but go to the wild life conservation center where animal are close to you. The brown bear was only 3 feet away from my 2 boys only separated by thin electric fences), we were surprised to see the freshly baked cookies on the front counter and all the coffee and tea and hot coco and banana and apple you can have. Kids were so happy. Staff was wonderful. One morning my son’s glasses had a fallen screw. Before I went to local Walmart to buy tool to fix it I tried the front desk and never thought they actually have those tiny screw drivers :} Refrigerator and microwave come in handy to keep those king crab legs fresh and cup of noodle hot. Coin laundry was handy. Only draw back was the murky swimming pool water. We are going to look for Hampton Inn to stay next time we travel.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Buffet is the best deal. Golden Corral good and cheap. get crab legs frozen at Sagaya Market for $9.90/lb cheapest in town. fresh wild halibut $19.99/lb is very expensive and i am glad i didn’t buy because here in orange county, CA Albertsons sells for only $15.00/lb.

Very Comfortable..

The room was clean, had plenty of lighting. Took awhile to learn how to turn the heat up but after that the room stayed at a comfortable temperature. There are some very nice restaurants near the hotel. Three of them are behind the hotel (walking distance) and one right in front of the hotel and share the same parking lot! The hotel was very quiet and homey!

We have stayed at this Hampton for years and really enjoy the convenience, price, and service.

we will stay here again

A handy mid town location, breakfast was good - plenty of choices, the pool and hot tub area were clean, fun and open until 10pm; the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. There is a shuttle service, which we didn’t use, but apparently they will shuttle you within 4 miles which would include several shopping areas and restaurants. It worked well for our family and we will stay here again.

Great place

This was a very nice hotel. They allowed us to leave our rental car in the parking lot while on the train for 2 nights. The shuttle service to the railroad was great...from the railroad depot back to the hotel was a little slow, but free! I would stay here again!

Would stay here again!

We stayed in 3 hotels and this one was by far our favorite hotel! Great location and helpful staff. The shuttle to and from the Railroad station was helpful! This was also the only place that provided breakfast/or the breakfast on the run bag.

Family Vacation

We had a terrific time at this hotel. The Shuttle service was very convenient for us since we did not have a car. The breakfast was great.
