beautiful view from rooftop
Check out the rooftop space - that alone made the stay worth it. Watching the sunset over the MIssissippi was memorable, as was the hotel restaurant.
We went for a performance of Ballet Memphis - make sure to add them to your Memphis to do list

Somewhat disappointing
The hotel was beautiful. Location was perfect. The staff was beyond nice and accomadating. It was "somewhat disappointing" in the inconsistencys that we experienced while being there. For the money we paid we expected to be treated on an upscale level. the first night was great other than they never brought us extra blankets. The second day we get back from being out at 3:30 and our room has not been cleaned and we have no clean towels or ice. We called and they came shortly after to clean. That night we get back aroun 10:30 and we have no turn down service. We called the front desk and they apoligized and did give us very appetizers and drinks which was really nice. This was a girls get away and we decided to treat ourselves with a luxury hotel but did not get the complete luxury stay. The staff was amazing which allowed the inconsitencys to be overlooked somwhat. There were other complaints that we overheard and they could only apologize and blame it on the amount of people that had stayed there that weekend. Not good enough as far as Im concerned.
Traveler's tip on dining
We ate at Felicia Suzannes which is just next store to the Madison. It is pricey and upscale but oh soooooo worth it. One of the best meals that Ive ever eaten and loved the atmosphere. The breakfast at the hotel was really good but for a special treat try the ARCADE. It is the oldest diner in Memphis and has a lot of history. Elvis Presley has his own booth there. If you like grits you must try them!

Would love to come back at a better rate!
The room service staff was lovely..My family and I ordered dessert in our room after a lovley meal at McEwens (located down the road). However, the room was REALLY pricey for one night..we are not staying at the Ritz Carlton here!
