Excelent location, litttle bit old rooms, excelent service
When I knew I was going to stay at the Peninsula Bangkok, I was thinking about the Peninsula in Hong Kong, and it was clear not the same thing. Lobby is very quiet, one has to whisper practically and no life at the lobby after 10 PM. The rooms are very nice, not fashion at all, but classy instead and a little bit old, but elegant at the same time. We were on our honeymoon so they kindly sent us a complimentary bottle of Champagne. Very nice gesture!!! Nothing to see or do by walking..but across the river you have the sky train to go anywhere..
Traveler's tip on dining
Try the buffet at the Peninsula. I usually hate buffets and always go a la carte, but this time the Peninsula amazed me. They have everything, from grilled lobster, to sushi, a huge desert room (very important to my wife), and very king service. The concierge nothing to amaze.

Best Anywhere?
Third stay at the Peninsula Bangkok. As with the other stays, everything was just perfect.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Although located on the opposite side of the river from the primary downtown area of Bangkok, the free boat service across the river makes it convenient to everything as can be in Bangkok.
