Not a bad place but there’s no beach
I read the bad reviews this place got, overall it wasn’t bad though. I stayed in an oceanview room and had the hot tub on the balcony. The rooms are clean, sometimes it takes the maid until 4pm to clean the room but that wasn’t a problem really. The issue here is that the hotel does not have a beach, the pool is ok and there’s a little overpriced restaurant. You have to take cabs or rent a car to drive to the beaches in the area. They were doing a lot of construction next to the hotel building a shopping mall so some of this land is not yet developed and may be improving. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. They had a store in the hotel as well to buy food. The weight room is crap, most items don’t work well. If you stay here its best to just rent a car (cheaper than cabs) and drive to all the different beaches. The hotel had a few nice excursions. Anyway, the hotel is safe and not a bad place but there are probably more americanized places like the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort if you like the touristy spots.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Rent a car. Every cab drive, regardless of if its 1 mile down the road or 10 miles away is about $10 to $20 US. Each cab charges whatever they want. US money is taken everywhere.

perfect view, can’t wait to go back
the view was beautiful looking at the ocean and down below the beautiful fool, loved the jucuzzi on the balcony. staff was very nice and helpful, will love to return to st maarten’s and stay there again. thank for the perfect vaccation

don’t over pack need only few shorts, few tos, lots of swimsuits and beachtowels

Wyndham Sapphire Beach Club & Resort
The room was well equipped and clean its part of a time share. I did find the front desk staff to be unfriendly and no working internet connection
