clean and neat
Hotel is in a great location for public transportation. It is about a ten minute bus ride into downtown civic center. Room very neat and clean and has a great indoor pool and hot tub. Staff very helpful. Free parking.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Short bus ride from EDI. Take the blue bus, first stop. Buy a all day bus fare and ride the #31 nd #48 bus into Edinburgh. From the city center you can ride any bus all day, and return to the Marriot. Great way to get around and inexpensive. Would not recommend driving into Edinburgh lots of construction. Insalling new rail system downtown to be completed around 2012.

Great Hotel in Edinburgh
The hotel was very comfortable compared to any other hotel I have stayed at in Europe. Maybe because it is a hotel chain they maintain certain standards that many of us as American have grown to expect.The room was a great size with large amounts of room for luggage and relaxing. The beds were quite comfortable with nice bedding. They had an adequate size TV with several channels and the option to pay for a movie. One of the biggest satisfactions was that this hotel has central air and heat!! The room and hotel were clean and the staff helpful and polite.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The hotel is a short distance from the city center but you need only walk across the street to get access to a city bus which takes you right down to the city center and local attractions for just a little over 1 pound. Edinburgh is a beautiful and historic city.

a decent hotel but i would give 3 stars plus only.
very kind staff- wanting to help in any way. god reception, very good concierge, good on the bar as well. i did find it not enough prepared on the breakfast- not fresh vegetables at all !!! and the restaurant - not 4 stars!

-local atractios- of course the castle- nice shopping on royal mile and vicinity. the food excellent in all the restaurants and pubs. the whisky eperience is very nice, the mary king’s close is very nice- also the night tours -with gosts story.
