Beautiful property, lousy service
They did not automatically provide the room upgrade or breakfast that was included in my Expedia reservation - for each of these, it was necessary to spend 15 minutes in "discussions" with management to ensure that we received what we paid for. Luckily I had a printout of the terms of the Expedia "contract." The hotel was practically empty, there was no need for them to argue over any of this. In the end, they assumed the air of having done us the "favor" of providing these things that we had paid for. Breakfast was regularly cold and the menu is extremely limited. The property and decor are beautiful, but the service could not have been worse. Only the concierges made an effort. The rest of the staff clearly do not enjoy their jobs and should not be in the "service" business.

Impressive service
I had impressive service during my stay like complementally water & weather forecast everday! The only netative is that I expected separate bath tab and shower, but there was no tab.

Classic Old-World Elegance
Right in the heart of old Montreal, we never even needed to take our car out of the lot. The look and feel of the place would not be much different had we stayed there 100 years ago and I only mean that in a good way; it’s a timeless beauty. I was treated like royalty by the staff. Restaurant was under construction while we were there, so I can’t comment. Someone came into our already-cleaned room to "neaten" it up during the day; nice! The only minor negative thing I could think to say is that our room was on the small side; it wasn’t like the huge rooms depicted on their website, even though we paid for "one step up", and not the least expensive rooms available. Still, I would definitely come back.
