Architectural Wonder in Spokane

My husband and I stayed for our 31st Anniversary at the Davenport. The hotel is located in downtown Spokane and within blocks of the mall a block away from the Spokane Falls. Even though everything is within easy walking, the hotel provides a Courtesy Town Car with excellent drivers to take you to and from sights and attractions within 2 miles. The beds are specially made exclusively for the hotel to provide a wonderful nights sleep and you can even buy one yourself in their gift shop if you wish. We walked to the Falls to enjoy the view from a tram, walked the Park, and played on the huge red wagon slide.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Pack warm clothes as it was 15 degrees even in October. Use the Courtesy Car to get around if the weather is cold. Great place for walking and running in the Waterfront Park.

Everyone must experience at least once.

It was the last night of our two week excursion and we were tired and looking forward to relaxing. We checked into the hotel we had booked and checked out immediatly! It was disgusting. Our friend had told us about the history of the restoration of this hotel, so with laptop in hand I jumped onto expedia and to my surprise there was a room. It was not cheap, but after walking into the dump hotel (Spokane Hotel)we were not taking any chances. It was worth every penny! The staff was great and welcoming, we walked the streets of downtown to the extremely large mall and across to the waterfront park. It was the perfect location and the perfect accomodation for us to unwind and get ready for our flight home. When staying here, you must do the walking tour of the hotel it was facinating. Thank you for restoring this beautiful hotel, we would stay again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you are driving, get valet parking it is a small amount more, but worth the conversation with the valet boys...all very nice and informative. Definetly take the time to walk the park and over the bridges, An Oasis in the City.

Would return in a heart beat

We loved the hotel decor. We were in the Towers. The room was spacious and we had a great view of the city. The staff was very helpful and the town car was great for getting around the city. A very nice perk!

Super Duper

The hotel was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The most outstanding thing about this establishment is the courtesy of the staff. Everyone we met was helpful, knowledgeable and sincere.

Davenport Hotel

Had a great stay when I didn’t expect it. The Davenport is a gem in Spokane - beautifully restored to its original grandeur. I stayed in the "tower" which is relatively new, but very nice. Oddly, the "safari" decor conveyed a sense of posh without being gaudy.

Good for special occations

This is a very nice hotel, and the price reflects that. We have stayed at almost all the hotels in Spokane, so we know what else is available. If you are just passing through, you have other, more affordable options, but if you are in Spokane for a special occation, this is the place to stay. We love both the old hotel and the new towers, and the Peacock Lounge is very fun to get together for drinks. Everyone working there is helpful, no snooty attitudes to go with the atmosphere. A good place for special occations.

Luxury & Comfort

There is no question that The Davenport says luxury. An example of the excellent service I received was when one of the chefs waited for the elevator with me while I was holding two Starbucks lattes so he could put his key card in the elevator so I could reach my floor. The valet was extremely prompt and the men helped rearrange our packages in the vehicle to load up our luggage while checking out. What a great stay.

Traveler's tip on shopping

The Davenport’s location is ideal for shopping at the Riversquare Mall and walking around downtown window shopping.

We loved it!

We decided to treat ourselves to some 5-star comfort and amenities - and we weren’t disappointed. The Davenport was everything we’d heard it would be. Especially loved the $3 desserts one evening from room service.

The only choice

We have stayed in both the tower and the main hotel in the past however the rooms are larger in the main hotel a little more character. Room 1026 is a large corner deluxe double queen!!

Stay in the main hotel and bring your kids a camera. The pool is located in this building and the multiple ballrooms provided hours of fun exploring and photographing. My girls got second hand dresses and did photo shoots all weekend. **Lots of hidden rooms**

Best Hotel in Spokane

The historic Davenport Hotel is a fine place to relax after a long day conducting business. The staff are attentive to every detail, the food was delicious and well prepared in the restaurant, the room was beautifully kept and it was delicious to climb into the luxurious bed. The safari motif was a little over the top but nonetheless tastefully done.

Great Hotel

We stayed in the tower and the rooms seemed newly decorated in safari. Very plush and comfortable. no tub in our double queen room, but a large walk in shower. Pool, exercise area, valet, spa were all very nice. The Sunday brunch did not have very good service, food at brunch was average. Food in Safari room restaurant was casual and tasty.

The rooms in the tower are really modern and everything is new

We stayed in the Tower which has really modern decor with walk in showers. This hotel is located really close to the mall downtown and was really convenient to most downtown locations. Wireless internet is included, but you do have to pay extra for parking.

Unexpected gem in this location

Hotel was great and was such an unexpected find in Spokane, WA. Hotel restaurant and bar were fantastic, and there is a Starbuck’s in the lobby - what more can you ask for? Room was well appointed, very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. All in all - a definite A + and a definite recommendation.

Traveler's tip on dining

Try Moxie right down the street - fantastic Asian fusion restaurant with a great wine selection and moderate prices.

Beautiful!

If you’re looking for a REALLY incredible luxury hotel, this is it. 5 stars! Decor has a high class safari theme, exquisite chandeliers, GREAT service. There’s even a Starbucks in the lobby! There was a slight discrepancy with the description of the room we requested (no chaise lounge) but they happily provided a roll-away bed for us, free of charge. Parking is a bit expensive and some of the other services but thats to be expected with this class of hotel. Bottom line: after all said and done, its definitely worth the splurge!

Beautifully restored

This is considered one of the very best hotels in Spokane and it lives up to its reputation. Beautifully restored a few years ago. Elegant, spacious lobby. Rooms are comfortable. My only recommendation is to put a coffeemaker in each room so guests don’t have to order room service or go down to the lobby for a cup in the morning.
