Economic Stay in expensive area
It is not 27 miles from Yosemite Valley. It is 27 miles from South Entrance of Park via about 15 miles unpaved single lane road.

Won’t stay here again.
If literally all you want is a "cheap" place to sleep at night, this hotel might be okay. Otherwise, you’ll want to skip it. The main problem was an unresponsive staff. After checking into the room, which I had specifically requested to be a smoking room, I found there was not a single ashtray in the room. There was also no remote for the television. Although these might be trivial complaints, when I brought this to the attention of the evening desk staff, the response I received was that since people steal them, we don’t replace them so they couldn’t do anything. When I again brought it to the attention of the morning desk staff, I was at least told it would be brought to the attention of the manager. However, neither the manager nor any other staff ever got back to me about it. Another big problem with this hotel was the "free breakfast". From empty coffee urns to a bottle of milk that had been sitting out for who knows how long to no attention being paid to keeping the the room itself clean, it was easy to quickly decide I would not be eating there. Finally, there was the noise from the plumbing. After going to sleep, I was literally woken up by the noise coming from the shower in the next room. The town itself was quaint and pleasant and with Yosemite Park close by, the area is beautiful. However, I would recommend spending the few extra dollars on a better hotel and avoiding this one.
