Pacific Sands Hotel
PRETTY SCAREY! GLAD WE SURVIVED TO TELL ABOUT IT! The only reason to stay here is the price and the location. The room was dirty. The bed was 200 years old (I mean broken down, not a charming antique). The TV was hanging on a bracket off the wall - LOOK OUT...don’t bang your head! There was no AC, just a fan. The neighbors were screaming in the night. The hot water ran out. There was no hair dryer - had to get it from the front desk behind the barred widows. Parking in front had 4 spaces....had to go to back alley, past the dumpsters and the stolen purse thrown on the ground. I was thrilled in the am when I found the car had NOT been broken into. BUT, it’s right across from the Santa Monica Pier and next door to some posh digs. Good Luck!

Santa Monica’s Worst
To be honest Im not sure how this hotel is even on Expedias website and how they would allow their users to stay in such a run down establishment. Im very surprised the city of Santa Monica hasnt condemned this eye sore that resides on Ocean Ave. My rooms odor consisted of dust and old furniture which has probably been there since the early 1980s. I can say they have done as little maintenance as possible to keep this place in operation. Lastly, having to pay for parking because they opened up their parking lot to the public and not reserving spots for their guest is asinine. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience.

This place was dirty, uncomfortable, and the staff was rude immediately.
This place was dirty, uncomfortable, and the staff was rude immediately. My family was totally uncomfortable and we were all disappointed. Our vehicle had to be parked around the corner in a different lot.
Not recommended for familes with young children.
