Hotel, Staff, Beach and Pool Superb

The Hilton Hotel was an excellent choice for our conference. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Airline lost my luggage for 3days and the hotel staff was very helpful in tracking it and keeping me posted. In particular, Christopher on the front desk actaually called the airlines for me (I am hearing impaired and had difficultly speaking to Airline luggage staff) and got the answers I needed. Almost all staff at the hotel was ready to help and friendly. I would advise you to preplan your airport transfers. Hotel dining was excellent but the food was pricey, and no nearby alternatives for eating. There appears to be a lot on business going between the hotel Bellmen and the Cab drivers. (More so than most hotels) Being in "Cahoots" is probably a good description. I had intended to join two friends in sharing a cab to the airport and the cab driver would only take me if I paid the full fare, while my friends split one full fare. So the driver would have gotten two fares for one airport transfer. I took another cab. The bellman stood by and sanctioned his decision. It was a sour end to an otherwise nice stay. Overall I recommend the hotel and thank their staff (minus some not all of the bellmen) for great service.

Flawless vacation

I highly recommend this hotel. EVERYONE at the hotel was very helpful and plesant. I became ill and my husband asked the chef at the hotel restaurant to make chicken soup for me and she did!! Eventhough it was not on the menu. I booked round trip ground transportation to and from the airport through Expedia and that went smoothly as well. I will most definitely stay at the Hilton in Barbados in the near future.

Eat in town at the curb side restaurants to save money and sample authentic food. Do try the flying fish (I prefer is broiled to fried). The Hilton’s bar has entertainment and the hotel offers a variety of events as well.

Hilton Barbados

Great hotel and location. When we first got there our room was all the way on the end facing trees (not the ocean) so I asked them to move us. They did but then put us directly on the other end. I didn’t realize it’s because I requested an extra large king size room. Loved the location. Cheaper to take a taxi from this location to most places. Loved the daily trips (Cool Runnings and Jeep Safari). The only complaint I have was when we were sitting by the pool or beach we had to go up ourselves to get a drink or to order fool. No one came to us even though we had our service flag up on our chair.

skip downtown shopping....very hot, too crowded, not great shoping
