Graves 601 Hotel Minneapolis

Location!

This hotel is right across the street from the Target Center with a skywalk connected to it. There are many bars and restaurants connected to it or right across the street in all directions. The Nicollete Mall is a couple of blocks away. The rooms were large and clean. My wife liked the unique bathrooms! I will stay there again!

i found the hotel to be cold and uninviting. its modern decor seemed inpractical. i disliked the fact that didn’t a coffee machine. its lobby was dark, confided and uncomfortable looking as if they didn’t want you to hang around. the restaurant was excellent and professionally run. the room was comfortable and i liked the fact that there was a television in the bedroom as well as the bathroom. the hotel is in an excellent location. on the whole , i felt it was just a room to sleep in rather than a part of a wonderful experience in Minneapolis.

A great hotel experience

This hotel is truly spectacular - the ambiance is soothing and yet sleek - it is in a great location and the staff is excellent. We stayed four days and would have liked to stay longer. We walked almost everywhere we wanted to go and enjoyed the whole experience. Highly recommend this hotel. The bed was one of th emost comfortable I have experienced in a hotel and the decor was very stylish. The room is small but more than adequate and the location cannot be beat. The concierge was very helpful and did not miss the mark on any recommendations for local eating establishments.

You have to eat at Ikes - had one dinner and one brunch there -both excellent.

If my travel plans ever call for a stay in Minneapolis I will ONLY stay at Graves 601

Great Location, Clean, Great Food, Beds a Little Soft for Me. But Comfy!

Great place. Everyone is really attentive. Centrally Located. You can walk everywhere. Doorman are lovely. Everyone is really nice. The rooms are spacious. Clean Great water Pressure.

Fine but zero refinement.

The Graves 601 is considered one of Minneapolis’ finest hotels, but don’t expect any sort of service--don’t even ask for directions if you can avoid it. On arrival, the front desk was virtually empty; it was staffed by what looked like to be a highschool student; twice I was given incorrect directions to restaurants (only a few blocks away); the hotel bar was barely alive; and I overheard the "concierge" give incorrect directions for the airport. All these are unacceptable for a boutique hotel in the heart of a city.

I really liked the hotel. However, my girlfriend left her dress in the closet and the claimed that it was not there. I felt like they could have done more to find out what happened to the dress. I called and left a message after they told me the dress was not there and they never returned my call. Bad business, but cool place.

LOVED!!!

We went here for our wedding night and it was amazing! We originally booked the basic room and they upgraded us to the penthouse level with a jacuzzi tub, huge king size bed, and an amazing view of downtown minneapolis. They had excellent service even at 1 in the morning when we arrived! We will definately go back and recommend this place to anyone!

A cool contemporary botique hotel.

Great room service, and the beds were so comfortable with awesome thread count! The walls in the room look like they are showing a bit of wear and it may be that its the flat paint that shows every scuff and scrape. The staff was very happy and helpful. I’d stay here again.

Birthday at Graves 601

I love this hotel!! This is the 3rd time I’ve stayed here and it’s just like coming home - only way cooler. From the Hermes soap to the frette linens to the giant flat screen TV - this is a wonderful sensory experience. The Concierge was extrememly helpful by providing print out maps to destinations we chose. Also recommended a sushi place we really enjoyed. The patio out front, the Starbucks next door, valet parking and the location are exciting and relaxing all at once. Come & see for yourself!

This hotel was great. All staff where very helpful. was a little disappointed when i got a bill for 35 dollar for one overnight valley parking. house keeping was good but has room for improvement. some of bathroom tile had black mold growing on grout from not cleaning. Aside from that my stay was excellent from the time i arrived. i would definitely stay there again.

A fantastic hotel

Our room was beautiful with one of the most comfortable beds I have rested on in a hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel in the middle of everything

We stayed at Graves 601 July 22-24, 2009. We had never explored Minneapolis and selected this hotel as it was right downtown. The bed was amazing, as many others have posted. The room was large and comfortable. The only complaint was that they were remodeling the lobby and so our first impression was very, very poor. Only one guy checking in a long line of guests at a conference table propped up with a black skirt. Other than that, the front doormen were terrific and the location fantastic. Minneapolis is a very, very nice town. Don’t forget to visit the Guthrie!

Beautiful, clean and convenient

Being across the street from Target Center is fantastic in and of itself, but the rooms are just beautiful and clean.

They do have a lot of services that cost extra. Be ready to order ice from room service. It’s free, but you might feel obligated to tip.

I FOLLOWED ANOTHER EXPEDIA TIPSTER’S ADVICE AND FOUND MUCH CHEAPER PARKING THAN THAT OF THE HOTEL, WITHIN VERY SHORT WALKING DISTANCE.

Reasonably convenient and extremely hip

Downtown Minneapolis is full of hotels, and many of them are right on the skyway. So while this hotel’s location is fairly convenient, it’s no more so than any other downtown hotel. The reason we chose this hotel in particular was because of it’s repuation as a hip, artsy hotel. And it certainly was that. The extrance hall is very austere and shiny, which I suppose is supposed to be stylish, but I found it cold, uninviting, and confusing. You have to go up an elevator to get to the check-in area, and while the lady at the counter was quite friendly, I can’t say the same for the rest of the staff. Getting to your room is inconvenient -- you have to walk through a bar to a secondary elevator to get there. The rooms were very attractive, full of cool, pointless artistic touches, like light-up photographs and a full-length mirror that glows red around the sides when you stand in front of it. The view from our room was pretty ugly, just looking directly at the room of the Target Center. The beds were very comfortable, and the TV even comes with a DVD player. But overall, I’m not sure that I would stay here again.

Very modern, upscale hotel right in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.

I really enjoyed my stay. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a large shower stall and partitioned toilet. The desk was large enough to accommodate two laptops. The Bradstreet located in the hotel offered phenomenal food and a very relaxed atmosphere to enjoy dinner. The only two negatives I can list are the expense of parking ($28 per day) and having to pay for internet.

Try the Bradstreet. The food is excellent and if you dine at the chef’s bar, you can converse with the cook while he/she is preparing food. The meal and the service were both excellent.

Quite Nice!

I have to say, overall, it was fabulous! There were two things that were a bit of a hassle. One, the parking situation was crazy. We parked in the public lot and found we had to lug our stuff through a maze. It didn’t connect directly to the lobby. Then the second issue which is minor. We had to call for ice. And for us, the first delivery was not enough. Great location for the city!

Highly Recommended!

Very comfortable room, with prompt service! It’s a great location, and despite the heavy traffic outside, the hotel is far enough above street level to keep the noise out of your room.
