Great boutiuqe hotel with a good location
The hotel staff was friendly, room was comfy and clean, no problems on the trip. The hotel serves a modest, but tasty, breakfast in the lobby each morning. The location is very close to the Riverwalk (a couple blocks to Casa Rio) and other downtown locations. Limited parking is available at the hotel for a reasonable fee.
Go to Casa Rio restaurant on the Riverwalk. Great Mexican food at a reasonable price.

Not a luxury hotel
The OBrian is billed as part of the Ascend Collections of Choice Hotels. This lifts the expectations somewhat, but even if those expectations had not been raised this hotel still would have had issues. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off the wall and if you have physical limitations getting into the tub/shower may be difficult. The hotel was very noisy and several other guests that I did not know were very unsatisfied with the hotel.
Traveler's tip on dining
Casa Rio is very good
