Hotel is conveniently located at the south of Central park, walking distance to all major streets. Food is way to expensive and make sure your breakfast is included in price.(there is no buffet breakfast, which is rare for a Mandarin hotel). Overal a great experience !

Great Hotel, Great Service, Incredible Location

Mandarin never fails to deliver a beautiful facility and incredible customer service. The NYC Mandarin was no exception. The location is conveniently located atop of a mall that has a Borders and several other traveler friendly amenities similar to the Ritz and Four Seasons in Chicago. The location is unbeatable and the room views are great. I selected a Hudson River View and was very pleased to overlook Riverside Park and see the sunset. I was very pleased that the room had an iPod dockable stereo integrated with the TV and 2.1 surround. This made for a great in room workout and TV controllable iPod menus.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Choose the Hudson River View room in fair weather and walk across the street to visit Central Park. This will save you a bundle on the rate.

Most romantic hotel. The rooms are spectacular, beautiful view.THe hotel is quiet and peaceful. A great weekend away to return home revitalized.

Marea’s is walking distance, great food and vibrant atmosphere. The lounge in the hotel has great view and wonderful wine and food

Great Place to stay!

My wife and I went to NYC to celebrate our 10th anniversary and had a great experience at the Mandarin Oriental. The room was cleaned to perfection and the room was very well appointed. The staff could not be any more accommodating. The concierge was very helpful in acquiring us tickets and making dinner reservations for us. The only disappointing experience was in the lobby restaurant. The food was not bad, however service left much to be desired. We did not dine at their main restaurant Asiate so I can’t comment about that. Overall I would definitely stay there again. Great quality and great location right at the Time Warner Center and Columbus Circle.

Housekeeping does not honor do not disturb

This is a very nice hotel. Unfortunately, housekeeping called and woke me up while I was sleeping to ask me if I wanted service, despite the fact that I had my "do not disturb" indicator on. What part of do not disturb do they not understand? If you want to sleep without being disturbed, I advise unplugging all the phones.

Too Bad That...

Too bad that I was only staying one night! The hotel alone made me wish my trip was longer. I have decided that when I return to New York, this will be my hotel of choice. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. All staff members were friendly. My only complaint was that the TV in the bathroom did not get all the available channels (not sure if it was supposed to). Previous reviews were absolutely correct!

Best Hotel Stay Ever!!!!!

Everything about this hotel was superb from the bellman to the housekeepers to the room service to the housekeepers to the front desk...I can not think of 1 single negative thing about this hote. First class all the way. Worth every single penny! I travel a lot and this was the nicest, classiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

New York’s top tier

We stayed in a standar room at the Mandarin which provided plenty of room for two guests. The staff was attentive and hospitable taking every chance to ask if we need anything or would like some addl services. From the bellman to the front desk to the housekkeping and rm service...it was all first class. Truly one of the elite hotels in Manhattan.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

There is a great Whole Foods store on the ground floor of The Time Warner Center (adjacent to hotel). Buy breakfast and lunch there -- save your powder for a nice dinner. 59th and Columbus subway stop (two minutes walk from hotel) can take you to many spots in the city). We used it a lot due to cab strike during our visit.

This hotel was fantastic. Our room was incredible with a gorgeous view of the Hudson and every amenity we could hope for. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. I plan to return at the first opportunity.

MO is tops

Had a great stay at Mandarin Oriental in NYC. Great location near many of the sites we visited, most within walking distance for us. Staff was terrific, friendly & helpful at all times. Great views from lobby/bar/restaurant facilities on 35th floor. Our room was on 53rd floor - spectacular views. Only quibble: for the lofty price, room was attractive but on the small side. Definitely will go back again.

The best service in NY with great location

I stayed 3 nights. The spa and the restaurant is fenomenal so is the room. Huge bathroom, very confortable bed. I had only one problem though. I got a room next to the service door. It was lound. Try to avoid that...

Was expecting more

For the rates they charge, I was expecting top notch hotel. Service staff was not exceptional, only acceptable. Room needed some touch ups and attention to detail regarding cleaning of furniture is needed. Finger prints on cabinets and dust and particle trails on dresser. TV reception was awful although the did offer several HD channels which came in ok.
