Great ambiance.
Beautifull restoration of the historical building and grounds. Great location in historic Santo Domingo. Very nice ambiance, but disappointing room decoration and confort.

A great hotel with an excellent location in the Old City
It is worth to stay in such a nice place, beautiful gardens, a small swimming pool, nice peaceful and calm, needs to improve a little the general attention in breakfast but there are only few details on it. Some steps away from the hotel you are in the middle of the history, museums, restaurants, and close to the river.

Decent but not great
Missing lots of little things. Service was sporadic and rooms are only so-so. Slightly musty odor in rooms. Despite this the character and location are pretty hard to beat.
