Great Location & Pool

My stay was during the Thanksgiving week and it was pleasant. Not very many tourists. The facilities were great especially the all-inclusive bar. The only down side to my trip was the bed and the mesquitos. The bed was to hard on my back but luckily the drinking all day helped. The mesquitos were awful! Make sure you take plenty of repliant with as much DEET as possible.

Lesson #1: Friendliness Goes A Long Way...

The hotel is small, but very clean and well maintained. Housekeeping does a great job and the "bell-boy" is very helpful. The weakness in the team is clearly the front desk staff. They are unfriendly, rude, and unwilling to assist with any of your questions. They make you feel like you are bothering them. They were also not flexible with our request for a two hour "late check-out" in order to accomodate our flight schedule (like all other hotels do). There is no internet access at this location. The front desk staff insisted there was internet, but could not prove it. We had to walk to neighboring hotel lobbies for iternet access. I would like to suggest basic customer service training for the front desk staff and a occasional smile and "hello" will not kill you!!! The front desk staff is very unapprochable.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

We recommend renting a bike and taking the 9.7km bike path. It is a fun ride, but spray on the mosquito repellant before you go!!!

Not impressed

The hotel is in good condition and clean. The pool is really nice, just by the beach. If you have kids it is a good place to stay since there are a lot of kids during high season. If you are a couple and want to get away for a romantic vacation this is not the place to stay. The service is overall bad, the people at the front desk gave us our room around 6 pm, we requested non smoking and ocean view since we reserved and they gave us smoking and parking view. We never got the remote control to the TV, they kept telling me that they would bring it over my room, never happened. The service at the restaurant is really bad, 2 times we had to leave since we didn’t get a waiter to come and take our order, the food is as bad as the service, it is just cafeteria food. You will have to go out to town to get a decen meal. Ixtapa is very pretty and there are bigger and nicer hotels, so there are all kind of options.
