Wawona Bliss
Built in the late 1800s, this hotel retains all of the charm from it’s earliest days of operation. No telephones or televisions in the period-decorated rooms (and virtually no cell service throughout the entire Yosemite Valley) made for a wonderful weekend away from the noise and distractions of our daily lives. Evenings are highlighted by Mr. Bopp’s piano by the fireside while sipping on warm cocoa or cocktails of your choice. The menu of the dining room has plenty to choose from, and the service and food is excellent. The hotel staff are well versed in the local area and have many great suggestions for daily excursions.

Go Back in Time
We had a delightful stay. The room was charming and had a covered porch to sit on. We chose to have a room with shared bathroom. Only thing to note there, is that you have to go outside on the porch to get to it. Just be sure to inquire when you book if you think that will be a problem. We arrived on a Friday night and enjoyed great free entertainment in the lounge. Food in the restaurant was outstanding. A unique experience to add to the thrill of seeing the Mariposa Grove and Yosemite.

Very charming!
We stayed at the Wawona Hotel because it had such a nice laid back feel....we went at the end of October and it was cold - about 30 degrees at nite. The accomodations were great, the room had nice charm and the overall hotel was very nice. The only complaint was that during the evenings the rooms never really got warm enough. They had old radiators or something like that which never warmed the rooms up...also, when you are taking a shower in the communal bathroom when someone opens the door you get a blast of cold air! Not so fun. Oher than that, the place was great...they had a super nice piano player in the evenings and the breakfasts were extremely filling before hiking in Yosemite.
