Over the Volcano
Animals, night slinking, ignite the security lights. No options, like,"Can you provide me ......".No shoes inside. Convenient to the Volcanoes. No services locally except Hardware store.Idiosyncratically charming Like a crater.
Take the 14 mile bike ride around Kilauea its a gas! Literally.

Pleasant inn, ideal location
Aloha Place is a quiet, comfortable inn, just off the highway, surrounded by gorgeous flowers and greens. Our innkeeper was cordial and helpful, but not intrusive, and breakfasts were delicious. It was a perfect location for exploring Kiluea and other natural atttractions, but also allowed us to visit Hilo, Puna, and lower Hamakua easily.
Traveler's tip on dining
The nearby Kiawe Kitchen restaurant is fabulous and inexpensive. Dont miss the Hilo Farmers Market on Wed. or Sat. Great source for fresh fruit but even better for souvenirs and crafts.

Great spot
This was a great place to stay while on the east side of the island and checking out the volcano.
