broken equipment, friendly staff
Most of the equipment in my room was not working: coffee maker, hair dryer, phone line, a table lamp. That said, when I complained, they were quick to send me a (working) replacement - and the staff were nice and attentive. Apart from this, the room was nice and clean.

Better than expected
I stopped to ask the concierge about train info. He was rather snooty to me when I could not remember the name of the venue! I did have the address so I asked him to google it…please. He asked who I was seeing there.When I told him the band, He paused and then said…”Oh that man is SO nice, such a sweet guy. They stayed here last time they were in town.” He was even nicer after that! I had a problem with the coffee maker and it was "fixed" within 5 minutes! The hotel is 1.5 blocks from the el train and I had no worries traveling at 1am. Not much besides stores in this area but lots of people and places to eat.

What a disappointment!
While I love the location of the hotel, the rooms we a total disappointment. I thought it would be a really cool place to take my kids, but it was like they started to remodel 5 years ago and just stopped. No art work on the bedroom walls, paint peeling, carpet stained. Yuck! When this hotel grows up it can only hope to be as cool as the Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee. Now thats what I call perfection.
