Deserted Valet, “No Answer” Room Service, Cramped Room and Lost Vehicle
We arrived near midnight to a deserted front area. No valet materialized so we left our car and lugged our bags into the first floor area but could not find the front desk. We found the Concierge counter but it too was deserted. A passing employee directed us to the 25th floor.We went up, checked in and left our car keys with the woman there – which was a big mistake. Our first room was on the 19th floor but it was next to the elevator and we could clearly hear the elevator and loud conversations of the guests coming onto the floor. Wanting to change to a quieter room we attempted to call up to the front desk but no-one would answer the phone! I left the room and traveled back up to the front desk where I was cordially told that due to near capacity conditions only an undersized room was available – no suites or any other room. We moved to a cramped room on the 17th floor, changed out of ourtravel clothes and, as we were very hungry having not eaten dinner yet we called room service to order a meal. No-one would answer our call. We tried the front desk but no-one would answerthat phone either! I dressed again and went back to the front desk to order our meal order. Horrifically, this first hour of our visit was to be the essence of our entire stay at the Conrad – right up till check-out on Sunday when the Valets couldn’t find our car.

Everything was 5 star quality or more on some areas. Excellent price for a more than great hotel.
