Details

The Adler Planetarium was the first planetarium in the United States and has been delighting audiences with the spectacle of the night sky—at the historic Sky Theater—since 1930. StarRider Theater and permanent and visiting exhibits transport you to the outer reaches of the Universe.

“Shoot for the Moon,” a new permanent exhibit, highlights the exciting stories of space exploration and America's bold plans to return to the Moon. The exhibit begins with “A Journey with Jim Lovell,” and features a fully restored Gemini 12 spacecraft and the Lovell Collection of personal space artifacts. In “Mission: Moon,” young visitors discover the thrills and dangers of being an explorer and imagine their own futures in space.

Enjoy stunning presentations in the Sky Theater, Definiti Space Theater, and Universe Theater. A wide variety of shows are available daily, from IMAX and 3D presentations to light shows documenting the solar system.

Daily; The planetarium is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Note:
Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free of charge. Some special exhibits may not be included in the cost of general admission.

Redemption instructions

After you book your activity, follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it iscritical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.

Exchange your voucher for activity:
On the day you wish to visit, please present your voucher(s) and the photo ID of the person who’s name is on the voucher(s) at any Adler Planetarium box office window. You may select your theater presentation show and time when you exchange your voucher(s); valid only if you have booked general admission + theater presentation.

Terms and conditions

Cancellations and Changes: This Activity can be changed or cancelled without penalty at any time prior to two days before the scheduled start of your trip. The scheduled start of your trip is defined as your hotel check-in date, your departure date of the originating flight, or the date of the Activity if the Activity was booked without a flight or a hotel.
