Climb aboard your comfortable coach at Victoria Coach Station and settle in for a guided tour of Windsor, Stonehenge, and Bath. This entertaining and educational tour packs some of the finest sights of England's heritage neatly into a day trip.|
- Windsor Castle
- City of Bath
An early start ensures your group beats the crowds, making you one of the first through the gates of Windsor Castle that morning. Situated just outside London, Windsor Castle—the Official Residence of Her Majesty The Queen—is the world's oldest and largest occupied castle. Spanning almost a thousand years and 15 acres, the castle is home to a treasure trove of royal furnishings and finery.
See the State Apartments and the display of items from the Royal Collection, such as ornate gilt furniture and paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, and Gainsborough. Other castle highlights include St George's Chapel and Queen Mary's Dolls' House, which you can see if the State Apartments happen to be closed. Pick up some Royal souvenirs that range from postcards to fine china.
After the castle, your tour departs for Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn about the 3 stages of the standing stones' prehistoric origins, the oldest part dating to around 3,100 BC. The complimentary audio tour delves into theories surrounding the colossal stones, though the exact reason behind this ancient site's construction remains a mystery.
Continue to Bath and enjoy a panoramic tour of this stunning Georgian city with stops at the Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge. Then it's time to visit the popular Roman Baths, built nearly 2000 years ago. The Roman public bath complex and the Roman temple were built on Britainís only natural hot water springs. Explore this World Heritage Site and admire its ancient architecture, Roman statues, and the steaming room.
