Special offer:Book your ticket to the Tour to Stonehenge and Windsor with the City of Bath Including Lunch by July 31, 2013 and redeem nowDecember 31, 2013 to save 10% on the regular booking price (price listed reflects savings).
Start the day with a trip to Windsor Castle, perched high above the River Thames just outside of London. Be one of the first groups to enter the castle in the morning, and have time to explore the almost a thousand years of royal history inside its walls. From William the Conqueror to the current queen, successive monarchs have resided in the castle, leaving their marks on what is now the largest continuously occupied castle in the world.
Depart Windsor and travel through Runnymede, where King John signed the Magna Carta, and travel to the mystical Stonehenge on the vast and empty Salisbury plain. The famous prehistoric monument is the ancient home of the pagan religion and spiritual worship, with origins dating back nearly five thousand years. Learn of the history of the stones, and hear the debate surrounding their reason for construction, origins, and how the 40-ton rocks arrived at their current location in the middle of the plain.
Stop for lunch at a nearby historical pub, and perhaps enjoy some delicious fish & chips, one of the most popular meals in England, before making your way to the world heritage site of Bath. The beautiful Georgian city is filled with delightful crescents, terraces, and fantastic architecture. Follow a guided tour of the city, and visit the Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge over the cascading waters of River Avon. Shop, enjoy a spot of tea, and explore the city, your guide answering any questions that come to mind.
