Details

Have the ultimate penguin experience—and more. On the way to the southern coastline, visit a boutique winery overlooking Westernport Bay and sample some of their wines. The tour also stops at a conservation park and nature reserve: get up close to a protected colony of koalas and see wallabies in the wild.

The rest of the tour is devoted to the main event, a private viewing of the penguins' trip from the sea to their sand burrows. Most visitors watch the parade from crowded boardwalks placed on the dunes, but on this tour, participants are guaranteed a secluded beach and a group size of no more than 15 people. Armed with night vision goggles, wait for sunset, when the penguins emerge from the ocean and come onto shore. Then, close enough to touch, and squawking conversationally to each other all the way to their nests, the penguins waddle right past you!

Reservations are required. Please contact Australian Wild Escapes at least 3 days prior to your arrival in Melbourne. Must be age 16 or older to participate in this tour. IMPORTANT: This tour requires a minimum of 2 participants. When you contact Australian Wild Escapes to finalize your reservation, they will work with you to finalize a tour time and date that fits your schedule and their 2 person minimum requirement. Australian Wild Escapes requests flexibility on the guest's part on the date of service due to the 2 participant minimum.

Redemption instructions

After you book your activity, follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it iscritical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.

Exchange your voucher for activity:
Reservations are required. Please contact Australian Wild Escapes at least 3 days prior to your arrival to schedule your tour date and pick-up time and location; the phone number and customer service hours appear on your printed voucher(s). On the day of your tour, please present your printed voucher(s) to the driver upon pick-up at your hotel. Note: Must be age 16 or older to participate in this tour.
