Set out discovering the history and culture of one of America’s favorite cities. Learn the history where the city began, the colorful French Quarter, situated right along the banks of the Mississippi River. Drive past the actual levee the breached, and encounter the resulting devastation that displaced hundreds of thousands of U.S. residents.

A knowledgeable guide recounts a local perspective on the chronology of events leading up to the hurricane itself and the days immediately following. Your tour winds through such neighborhoods as Lakeview, Gentilly, New Orleans East, St. Bernard, and the Ninth Ward. Also visit the second largest port in the country, the multimodal port of New Orleans. Featured on the popular American television show Good Morning America, this tour provides visitors with a unique, insider’s perspective on events and a glimpse into the city that will rise from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Reservation confirmation is required. After booking online and printing your voucher(s), you must call Gray Line New Orleans as far in advance of your arrival as possible to confirm your reservation date and time. Due to the popularity of this tour, it is very important to call as soon as possible; you must call by at least 4 PM the day prior to your desired tour date. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for this tour. Children younger than age 6 may participate for free.

Redemption instructions

After you book your activity, follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it iscritical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.

Exchange your voucher for activity:
Reservation confirmation is required. Please call Gray Line New Orleans as far in advance of your arrival as possible to schedule your preferred tour date and time. Gray Line New Orleans will issue you a confirmation number at this time. Tours do sell out, so it is very important to call as soon as possible. Please present your voucher(s) and confirmation number at the Gray Line Lighthouse Ticket Office on the day of your reservation; you will be given passes to your tour at this time.

Cancellations and Changes: This Activity can be changed or cancelled without penalty at any time prior to two days before the scheduled start of your trip. The scheduled start of your trip is defined as your hotel check-in date, your departure date of the originating flight, or the date of the Activity if the Activity was booked without a flight or a hotel.
