NEW! Don't monkey around … the San Diego Zoo's most elaborate ambitious animal habitat to date,Monkey Trails and Forest Tales, is top banana! This exhibit is home to more than 30 species of African and Asian birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians—including some of the rarest and endangered monkeys on Earth golden-bellied mangabeys, Schmidt's guenons, and mandrills.

Visit the newest addition to theGiant Panda Research Station: Panda cub Su Lin and her mother—Bai Yun—are on exhibit from 9 AM–noon every day. A new exhibit area was recently built for the pandas and offers them deluxe accommodations with larger exhibit areas and extra vegetation and climbing structures. The new exhibit also includes winding, elevated viewing paths that give great panda-watching opportunities.

The San Diego Zoo’s other exhibits and habitats include:

Absolutely Apes: A lush, naturalistic environment where arboreal orangutans and siamangs can climb, swing, and live in the same terrain as they would in the wild.

Children's Zoo: All ages are welcome, but the 30 special animal exhibits and activities were designed with the zoo’s younger visitors in mind.

Flamingo Lagoon: Three beach areas, a nesting island, a large lagoon of gently circulating water, and lush landscaping have all combined to make the flamingos feel right at home.

Gorilla Tropics/Scripps Aviary: Enter a remarkable simulation of an African rain forest, with several enclosures and an expansive aviary housing some of Africa's amazing wildlife.

Ituri Forest: Experience true interspecies interaction in this replica of the Congo’s Ituri Forest: swamp monkeys play "grab-the-tail" with spotted-necked otters and the river hippos seem to delight in both entertaining and observing the humans that come to see them in their luxurious pool.

Polar Bear Plunge: The Arctic tundra comes south to San Diego, with Siberian reindeer, Pallas' cats, northern birds, and native plants, along with polar bears.

Rain Forest Aviary: Bird lovers will break into warbled song with this up-close look at more than 200 feathered friends representing 60 species and about 180 birds.

Reptile Mesa: Slithery, slimy, and slow, the Reptile Mesa is home to them all! From pythons, cobras, and boas, to tortoises, rattlesnakes, and gila monsters.

Sun Bear Forest: Lose yourself in this forest in the city where naturalistic enclosures and thousands of exotic plants combine to help animals and Zoo visitors alike experience life in an Asian forest.

Tiger River: Mesmerizing and gorgeous but also endangered, the Malayan tigers are always a pleasure to watch.
