Details

Get suited up in a protective top and surf shoes (both are included), then head to the beach. Paddle out to a wave, find your balance, and just surf it.

Lessons
Instructors are expert surfers who instruct and monitor you in the water; they are encouraging and vary their teaching methods for different people. Groups are small (no more than 6 people) to maintain a good instructor to surfer ratio. On the sand, you'll learn how to stand up, balance using careful foot placement, and slow down or speed up with gentle weight shifts. After a few practice exercises close to shore, you'll paddle out to the surf zone.

Surfing
Your instructor paddles with one surfer at a time and holds your board just before you ride the wave. The long, flat board gives you a sturdy base of support and control in the water. Follow the 1-2-3 steps: kneel quickly, then get up on one knee, then stand to surf. Once you've mastered the basics, you'll be addicted to the pleasures of surfing like a pro.

After booking your activities or services—3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.

Exchange voucher for your activity:
Within 72 hours of booking Surfing Lessons in Lahaina you will receive an e-mail from a Local Expert™ Activity Specialist. Your Hawaii Activity Specialist will confirm your chosen activity with the local operator and provide you with confirmation information. The e-mail will also contain directions to the nearest Local Expert™ desk where you will exchange your voucher for the activity ticket. Please be prepared to show photo identification. If you do not receive an e-mail or have other questions, please contact Local Expert™ directly; the customer service phone number will appear on your voucher.Note: Your printed voucher is proof of your online booking; it is not a valid admission ticket.

The Local Expert™ Activity Specialist can also assist you with any additional activities you would like to do in Hawaii and answer any general vacation questions that you might have.
