Soak up the scenery and let someone else do the driving as you travel from Kona through pasturelands towards Mauna Kea. Along the journey, be sure to look for the Kona coffee and macadamia nut orchards, Kealakekua Bay, sugar plantations, and much more. Then, stop at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to explore the native rainforest, visit a lava tube, and investigate the extraordinary volcanic formations. A naturalist guide will be on hand to offer intriguing lore, point out the spectacular formations, and explain the powerful natural forces that are still shaping the islands.

Listed as both a World Heritage Site and an International Biosphere Preserve, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is an inspiring place and a must-see for visitors to the Big Island.

After booking your tour, follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it iscritical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.

Call Hawaii Forest and Trail Headquarters at least two weeks prior to departure to make your reservations. The customer service number appears on your printed voucher(s). At that time, please ask the representative for directions to Hawaii Forest and Trail Headquarters, where you will present your voucher(s) on the day of the tour.
Terms and conditions

The departure point for this activity is located in Kailua-Kona, approximately 2 hours from Hilo. Climate changes can be frequent and rapid, so please dress accordingly. Guests should bring a light jacket, wear comfortable walking shoes, and wear or bring long pants. Children younger than 5 participate for free.
