Details

Founded as a botanical garden in 1919, the nationally accredited Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens offers you the chance to view animals from alligators to zebras within this 43-acre historic garden. In 1969, the wild animals were introduced by Larry and Nancy Jane Tetzlaff, better known as Jungle Larry and Safari Jane. Today, zoo guests get up close to lions, hyenas, antelope, and other rare species at feature exhibits like Tiger Forest, Panther Glade, Fosas of Madagascar, and Leopard Rock.

The best part of this zoo, however, is its variety of presentations. Two premier shows (Planet Predator and Serpents: Fangs & Fiction) are presented daily in the Safari Canyon theater and feature live animals complemented by stunning wildlife clips, illustrative graphics, and up close live cam views. Additional programs include the Meet the Keeper Series, Alligator Bay Feeding, Snake Sunbathing, and more.

One of the highlights of the zoo is the Primate Expedition Cruise, a guided boat tour through islands of monkeys, lemurs, and apes living in natural habitats. Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens Zoo is accredited by the prestigious Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
