Scoot your way around the Big Easy on a Segway! This motorized platform on wheels, and a tour guide, will take you out of Jackson Square along the banks of the Mississippi River, to Algiers Point, the Jazz Walk of Fame, Mardi Gras World, and the French Quarter.

Details

Begin your morning or afternoon tour with a 30- to 40-minute orientation session to learn the basics of maneuvering the Segway. Then, roll out of Jackson Square and along the banks of the Mississippi River, while your tour guide offers history and fascinating stories about the area. Next, you'll see the Aquarium and Harrah’s Casino before ferrying across to the second-oldest neighborhood in New Orleans—Algiers Point. Meander along the Jazz Walk of Fame to Mardi Gras World, to sample a slice of King Cake. Return to the lazy streets of Algiers Point and the French Quarter, where you'll see those famous lacy iron balconies and front porch rocking chairs. Cross back to the East Bank and wrap up your tour with a stroll through Woldenberg Park and the Moonwalk.

Departure time and location:
9:30 AM; both tours meet at the golden Joan of Arc statue in front of 941 Decatur Street (about 100 meters from Jackson Square)

Return time and location:
1:30 PM; same as departure location

Note:
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Each tour begins with a 30-minute orientation session, so that all participants are comfortable maneuvering their Segway. All riders must have the ability to climb and descend stairs without assistance. The Segway is not appropriate for anyone weighing under 100 pounds (45.5 kg) or over 250 pounds (113.6 kg). Any participant suspected of being under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to ride. Participants younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is 18 years or older (to sign liability and damage waivers; the adult does not need to go on the tour). Each party must also complete a damage waiver that includes a deposit of US$499.95 on a credit card. This charge is immediately cancelled at the end of the tour. Beverages, raingear, and gratuity are not included.

Redemption instructions

After booking your activities or services—3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it iscritical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.

How to redeem your voucher(s):
Reservation confirmation is required. You must contact City Segway Tours at the number listed on your printed voucher(s)at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled tour. On the day of your tour, please bring your printed voucher(s) and photo identification to the departure location printed on your voucher(s). A US$400 deposit on a major credit cardper reservation to cover potential misuse and/or damage to the Segway will be required before participating in this tour. This will be refunded immediately after the tour, provided the Segway is not damaged. You will also be required to sign a damage waiver before your tour departs.
