Hotel is 10minute slow walk to cathedral so generally well located. It's specific site is 'astride' the old city wall which forms part of the building. However, this also means it's next to the ring road, in fact it forms one corner of the outside of the roundabout. Not really a problem but a couple of heavy lorries could be felt. All 3 of us (including 3.5 yo son) slept well in the honeymoon suite, so no real issue. Breakfast great and room above average with comfy bed and large en-suite.

"Very good B&B close to Whitstable and Canterbury "
Excellent hosts and very good breakfast. Very close to Canterbury town yet away from the hustle and bustle. Goods views of the cathedral from the family room. Nick and John are doing a fabulous job of running this B&B

The hotel has more of a B&B feel which was really nice. Our room was on the top floor if the main building, the room itself was lovely with a 4 poster bed. The only downside was there was only a bath but no shower. It was a lovely free standing bath but it took a long time to fill as the water pressure wasn't great. It was also very difficult to get the temperature of the water correct.
Breakfast was great. Full English.
They have have a swimming pool which we didn't use and also a spa which did massages.
There was a car park with quite a few spaces although it was quite tight but as long as everyone parked courteously there were no issues. I would stay again

Great location and a real historic building (built in 1503) with quirky crooked windows and tiny doorways (mind your head!) but slightly run down. There seems to be little in the way of staffing with no real reception - you have to ring the doorbell or make a phone call to get in. The light in the bathroom didn't come on - just flickered. Reported this but nothing done about it. We were only there for one night so were able to live with it but not really good enough. Full English breakfast was tasty and well cooked and the guy taking the orders was friendly and helpful. The tea/coffee making facilities in the room were generously stocked. This hotel is a real diamond in the rough and with a little more effort could be a real gem but at the moment it doesn't quite cut it.

This was my 80th Birthday celebration treat and we were not disappointed. Our room was 28 winding narrow steps up but the Staff helped us with our cases with a smile.
The two restaurants were good, Dems particularly. Excellent and delicious food well presented.
Very good breakfast served until midday.
Will recommend to all our friends

Service was excellent by breakfast, housekeeping and front desk staff. On quiet lane just off major shopping and dining precinct in city centre. Many really great restaurants only a few minutes walk. A short walk also to the Cathedral. Very enjoyable few days.

This ancient city lies on the River Stour, where visitors can enjoy a tranquil riverboat tour of the town which is home to a host of World Heritage Sites. Having survived the bombings of WWII, the magnificent cathedral has a spectacular history and offers audio and guided tours for visitors wanting to learn more about the area's fascinating past.
