We have stayed in this Hotel in the past and had a great time. the Hotel Host/Manager Mr Helmut Gold, was one of the nicest, helpful people you could wish to be on reception. Just after we arrived the elevator failed, he just picked up our bags, without being asked, and carried them up two flights of stairs. Needless to say the elevator was working again within a little while. The area is spotless and there are plenty of excellent restaurants around. Also a lovely park just over the road, which was lovely and peaceful to sit in. All the staff were polite and courtious and l would not hesitate to recommend the Hotel to anyone.

The hotel was easy to find when driving from Italy to Germany and needing an overnight stop. Although not in the centre of town there was a shopping centre nearby and the hotel had all the facilities we needed.

Hotel was clean and efficient. Free parking too. Staff were friendly, always available, always spoke English and were very helpful. They have some food available 24 hours a day.
The location is within walking distance from major attractions in Chur as including old town and the railroad station. There is a pizza place next block that's open late, but most businesses next door close early.
A good skiing area called Lenzerheide is about 30 min drive up the mountain and is very good. There is a small ski area in a walking distance from the hotel, Brambrüesch, but you have to bring your own skis - it only offers few pistes and it may be affected by warmer weather as it's not that high up.
Rooms were smaller then expected. Pictures do not convey the size. Bathroom door doubles as the sleeping quarters door. No lock on bathroom door. But it's all very clean and they made up our room daily.
They have a terrace shared by all the rooms and allow smoking on the terrace. TV stations were mostly Swiss in German, but who cares about tv! If you travel from us bring electrical plug converters from us to Switzerland or EU. Their outlets are not universal.

The room was clean and comfortable, by European standards. The shared bathrooms and showers were immaculate. The host was friendly and helpful. This hostel is above the hottest club in town, for young people who want loud dance music with a line up to get in all night. Hostel guests enter through a seperate door and get noise cancelling headphones to sleep with.

Set on the Rhine and nearly surrounded by the Alps, Chur is the capital of the mountainous canton of Graubunden. Its location at the intersection of multiple mountain passes makes it an ideal starting point for trips deeper into the Alps, where many summer and winter recreational activities await. The city’s Old Town offers historical relics like the 800-year-old cathedral of St. Luzius.
