I spent hours searching online for a reasonably priced hotel as close to the centre of Madrid, but unless you're prepared to pay top dollar you'll have to settle for somewhere far enough from the centre, that you'll have to get the metro into where a tourist want's to be. Then I came across the Puerta ...
Very nice hotel the area isn't to good but it's alright but I didn't come to look visit that area 5 train stop to the centre of Madrid and the price is cheap clean room I would stay again
The room was very comfortable and we were within walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops, food market, shopping and the museum. Don't show up too early to drop off luggage as no one was in reception until about 9:00.
Perfect location to all major sectors of the city. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with adequate safe storage. The organised dinner provided a great sense of community during the evenings, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Overall, great Hostel.
Hotel had all that was required for a short stay in Madrid. Close enough to travel on the metro and yet away from the hustle and bustle of central Madrid. Good breakfast and comfortable rooms.
On the whole I'd recommend this hotel. The staff were polite, the room comfortable if spartan, and the location near the train station is excellent. The caveat is the heavy traffic on the road outside. Light sleepers, like myself, may wish to use earplugs.
The hotel was very close to the airport and indeed walkable from terminals 1, 2 or 3 if you are reasonably fit and don't have too much luggage. Terminal 4 not so close, although a free airport shuttle operates between the terminals but as my flight was early I had to get a taxi and I'm not sure if ...
The hostel is close to the airport and to the Metro. It was spartan, but clean. Remember that if you use a Renfe train, you can likely get a Combination ticket for the Cercanias train line (to the airport) for free. A friendly local Madridian helped me to do this. Walking to the hostel from the Metro ...
Close to Plaza Mayor and metro at Sol so easy access to city centre. However, our room was very small: our bed barely fitted in and there was room for only one small chair - which blocked the fridge.
