"Clean, affordable hotel in Florence"
Stayed one night here in October 2015 with my wife and 16 yr old son. The hotel is reasonably close to the centre of Florence and is easy to find. The exterior is nothing special but once inside check-in was easy and staff friendly, (no check-in before 3.30pm though which perhaps is a little late). We had the 'Loft' on the top floor so cannot comment on the normal doubles. There is a lift. We had effectively an apartment to ourselves, complete with small kitchen and a bathroom. The furnishings are maybe a little dated but everything was spotlessly clean, room was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. Nice view of the rooftops with partial view of the Duomo too. We did not buy breakfast but it is available.

"Just minutes away from the center"
Our best stay in Italy was our stop in Florence. They city is great and this hotel is partly the reason why we loved it so. The staff was helpful and informative, especially Palo. The rooms are small but cozy. There is a shower in the room, but the toilet is in the hallway. This didn't become an issue as it was well kept and never busy. A great budget location.

"Nice Hotel Close to Everything, Shared Bathroom"
Like the title says, very nice clean rooms and staff. A 5 minute walk from all the best sights in Firenze, however we got booted from our original shared bathroom because it was made private for someone, not sure the story there, and moved down the hall to another bathroom. It wasn't bad and this may have been done because there were only 2 guests in the Hotel and the staff was trying to give us each a bathroom of our own. Would recommend.

"Basic comfort"
Don't be fooled by the one star rating- it serves perfectly fine for a basic, low cost and safe place to stay in Florence. Close to Santa Maria Novella station which was very convenient with suitcases and bags. Top floor terrace is lovely for afternoon, evening or night drinks and relaxing after wandering around Florence all day. Close to markets, and not far at all from the Duomo and the central sites. Top tip: head down Via Nazionale and find Tutto 99¢- everything is that price including bottles of Peroni and other beers. Save on buying so many out and get them here to enjoy on the aforementioned rooftop!

"We liked it!"
We stayed at the Hotel Colorado for 3 nights before our families arrived for our Italian wedding (in San Gimignano). The hotel was a little bit outside of the main Florence area, though super close to the Accademia (where the David is). The hotel is nice and good value - it has wifi, private bathrooms and breakfast. The man who runs the hotel is SUPER nice and accomodating. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

Pocket Guide: Florence San Lorenzo 1 star Hotels

The centerpiece of this Florence neighborhood is the Basilica di San Lorenzo, one of the largest churches in the city. Located near the city's main market, the most celebrated aspect of this structure may be the Cappelle Medicee. Also notable is the Laurentian Library, which was conceived and built by Michelangelo.
