"Great Location, friendly staff, mediocre room"
Older rooms, but really great staff and nice location, right by a T station. I thought it was great for the price. No wifi in rooms and no breakfast. Also no parking included. So that is a let down. But overall if you are looking to do Boston on the cheap I thought it was great.

"Quiet, very clean, comfortable motel."
I stayed at the Clipper Ship Inn during a weekend visit to Salem in the winter, but I would certainly stay there again and for longer. I had a suite on the second floor of the motel, and my room couldn't have been any more clean or comfortable. Even though I was on my own, I had two large beds in the bedroom, with lots of light, a nice view, and cable TV. The bed was cosy, the bathroom was clean and had a heater on the ceiling (handy in winter), the living room was very spacious and tidy, and everything was tastefully decorated. I also had plenty of useful personal care amenities, including soap, shampoo, lotion, lots of towels, etc. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful in suggesting possible things to see and do. Although the motel is within walking distance to most of Salem's attractions (I walked everywhere and saw most of the city in that weekend), it is a little removed from the downtown area (relatively speaking) and so it is very quiet at night. For this reason, I didn't walk back from downtown to the motel at night, since I was on my own, but the taxi (Salem Taxi) cost me only $6 and the driver was very friendly and quick in picking me up. I would recommend this motel to others visiting Salem.

"Great price an location when visiting Salem, Ma "
Read the reviews after booking & was scared what I'd walk into, I was pleasantly surprised w/ how close it was to Salem but yet away from the chaos. The staff at check-in even though it was 10:30pm was very very nice. Room its self looked freshly painted with newer carpet, new linens, used my own anyway. Definitely need better window coverings for side facing Dunkin Donuts, the cars in the drive thru shine right into the room due to it only having a plastic mini-blind. The bathroom window really should have privacy glass due to the D&D drive thru is right there and the bathroom its self was SCARY! Personally I'm a skeever/germ freak I know it was just mildew due to the lack of a ventilation fan, but still grossed me out to the point I put a towel on the floor of the tub so my feet didn't touch. If the bathroom was redone I honestly would give an excellent rating all around. I will definitely book there again!!

"One of the better hostels"
It was one of the better hostels i have lived in. You just have to adjust your expectations and remember this is a hostel, not a hotel. The single room i got was on the 7th floor and adequately sized. the shared bathrooms were cleaned 3 times a day and the staff were very friendly. The location was excellent, a few minutes walk away from Newbury street, Boston's nicest street. I really enjoyed my time there.

"Great alternative to stay in Boston."
A very clean hostel environment with a cushy community living room and good sized kitchen. Extra large bathrooms. VERY clean!! Met some nice people, and loved that it is located directly across the street from the T station for easy commute to city. Nice area to stay in South Boston. We felt safe and comfortable. Will return without hesitation.
