"Very nice and helpful staff"
Very nice staff! The common areas (not your room) could be cleaner. The breakfast items need to be restocked as the morning progresses. Best pizza joint Cata Bene just up the street. Eight minute walk to the subway. I would stay here again.

"Not great but not terrible either"
If you are reading this its because you're looking for a cheap hotel in the city. Some of these people writing negative reviews act like their travelling abroad with the Astor's. The staff was friendly and helpful though there is a bit of a language barrier, my reservation wasn't lost and my room was clean. The bathroom was clean and modern and everything worked fine. I think the people complaining about shower not working didn't know how it worked. The room itself was in need of updating, but I slept fine. T.V. is old with like 12 channels and fire alarm was missing, but those things weren't an issue for me. The best thing about this hotel is that you go out front door and across street and you are on the subway, and in Manhattan in ten minutes. Also the neighborhood is nice and safe with everything you need in walking distance.

"Clean, close to subway"
Basic hotel, clean, no strange smell. Bathroom very small, no safety bar. Next to highway ramp, a bit noisy. 5 minutes to subway station, 30 minutes to Mid-town Manhattan, not great neighborhood, but should be safe. We walked around 8pm, no issue. McDonald is around the corner. Normal breakfast, good to have before heading to the town. 4 to 5 parking spots in front of the hotel, luckily we had one. See some cars parking on the street in front.

"GOOD Price, GOOD Location, Small Rooms"
It was walking distance to the train and Barclay center. Room was tiny, but that's most Brooklyn hotels. Breakfast was adequate, hotel staff did their jobs. Walls are paper thin. You can hear muffled conversation from other rooms. Overall it's a fine place to save a Buck and fall asleep.
