Location: Near to a subway station BUT not covered by JR pass. Limited night life. Have to walk quite a bit
Breakfast: Provided by Sukiya - Nothing fancy
Bath / Facilities: Provides a warm and cold pool. Contains only water. Does not have any mineral. Hence, experience was meh.
Lockers: Same level as your sleeping area. but very small and lack of shelving.
Staff: Only 1-2 staff on the ground servicing. Hence it can be quite slow during peak period. Had quite a tough time communicating
Footware: Felt it was a little unhygienic as there were no sterilisers for the slippers. (the slippers are shared). Unless you brought your personal pair, you would need to borrow to go bathroom or common areas.
Attire: They provide you a set of yutakas but could have a instruction to teach you how to wear it. Mine came off half way as I was walking up to the stairs (and facing the street)
Basic amenities: No water cooler or dispenser. Have to ask the receptionist for a glass of water which comes in a very small glass. They dont provide a bottle of water unlike other capsules. They dont provide combs.
Crowd: Mainly tourist. And it seems like most was not informed of the basic formalities of using the hot tub. Saw a few ppl went in without showering and started scrubbing themselves in the pool.

We had nice Japanese retreatment at Sanjojuku by sleeping on futon that was comfortable and having green tea. It was our first time to stay in the traditional Japanese house with a great experience. Thanks,

The staff are very helpful and efficient. Our room was small, definitely for barely two people, but clean and workable. the stairs are very steep with no elevator but railings, steps etc are in excellent shape. Bathrooms are fine and tiny but clean. This is a great location right off the canal with a walking path all along it below street level. In spring the cherry blossoms must be great there. Easy walk to Nijo castle and Kyoto palace.
