"Next to Plaza de Armas"
The location, was a good location, but on the weekend, you will have to get used to all the noise from the late night crowd. Also, some rooms may not have Cable television.

"Great guesthouse near the main square"
We stayed at Santa Rosa for 1 night. Our room was very spacious, clean and cozy with tons of natural light and a lovely view of a main street. The private bathroom was clean. The bed and pillows were wonderfully comfortable (a rarity in Peru as our 3 other guesthouses had terribly hard beds and bad pillows). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great for exploring all the interesting spots in Lima, and just one block from the main square. This came with a drawback, though, as the street Santa Rosa is on is VERY noisy well into the evening, especially on weekends. Our room overlooked this street and was very noisy even with all the windows closed. Luckily by 11pm things quieted down considerably. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Santa Rosa, but make sure to pack earplugs.

"Great price for a great location!"
It's an affordable hotel for such a great location, it's central to everything "Lima". The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable enough. I will definitely be staying here in the future.

Pocket Guide: Chinatown Downtown Lima 2 stars Hotels

A fusion of old and new, Lima is the crossroads of two great civilizations, and nowhere is this more evident than downtown Lima. The Plaza Mayor's imposing landmarks weave both Spanish and Incan influences. Among its highlights is the Cathedral of Lima, where conquistador Francisco Pizarro is entombed. Nearby, Calle Capon tempts Limeños and tourists alike with Chifa, or Chinese-Peruvian cuisine.
