"Lovely student style accommodation"
Upon arrival I was upgraded to a kitchenette room free of charge. The room was a good size and included a double bed against a wall, table, chair, desk, kitchen area, and en suit bathroom. The kitchen had a sink, microwave, hob, and kettle. Washing up liquid and a scribing brush were provided, as were complimentary tea and coffee. There is a lot of storage for clothes and in a cupboard there was a ironing board and iron. The en suit is a small but good size and conditioning shampoo was provided. Whilst the bed was a bit hard this was kind of expected as for the rest of the year it is student accommodation. If you need a place to stay during the summer that is a bit cheaper I would suggest this place as it is good value for money. The only thing I can comment on its that there wasn't a hair dryer in my room so I had to ask for one but that was easily fixed.

"Good for price but very warm"
Stayed in fringe time and this place was cheap and close to the Royal Mile. Shared kitchen facilities were quite good and clean as you only share with a small amount of people in your section. Even though it was quite cool outside while we were there, the room was a furnace. No airconditioning and you're only able to open the window a tiny bit for any sort of ventilation. (We found moving the curtains away from the edges of the windows allowed a little more cool air to come in but it was barely adequate). Wouldn't recommend this place if you're expecting warm weather but would be great in the lower temperatures.

"Great space and facilities but don't cook!"
This place is unlikely to be beaten on what you get for your money. Stayed during August when the Fringe was on and only paid £60 a night. The double room was big, the bathroom clean and the kitchen full of cooking utensils. Only a bus ride from town and the stop is right outside the complex. However, we managed to set the fire alarm off after cooking some food on the hob. Only the fire brigade can turn it off so a fire engine turned up despite there being nothing wrong! Big waste of time and effort. If you stay here just use the oven/microwave and don't use the hobs. I don't know how students do it during term time - you'd set it off if you burnt a bit of toast!

"Large family rooms "
This hotel is decent for the price point (especially with a last minute booking). The bathrooms are communal, which I'm sure it says somewhere but I didn't read it so that was a surprise when we arrived. The family rooms are gigantic and could sleep 6 adults in beds without being on top of one another when getting ready to go somewhere. The only problem was being woken up in the middle of the night to the sound of a neighbouring rooms door being kicked in because the door locked itself from the inside and "the only way to get in is to kick it in"..... Maybe get that fixed?

"Interesting place"
Very quirky. The art collection was a little overwhelming at arrival, but as time went on you could appreciate some of the nice work. Staff was friendly, breakfast was good, location was good, beds were not luxurious but adequate. Private car park was a bonus! Altogether a good experience.

    Edinburgh Motel Guide

Edinburgh is a small city full of unexpected contrasts. In the centre you will see people going about their daily lives amid some of the world’s most iconic structures. Inside Edinburgh hotels you will find wholesome traditional Scottish food served with modern flair. It is an enigmatic destination that defies easy explanation.

Book a comfortable stay in a 2 star hotel – any visit to Edinburgh is a truly rewarding experience. Scotland’s capital was the first UNESCO City of Literature and the city is very much like a good book: thrilling, engaging and a magical escape from the everyday.

    Edinburgh City of Literature

Many of Scotland’s best-known writers have called Edinburgh home at some point in their career and this is a fact that the city is proud to show off. Edinburgh has many literary tours and points of interest for visitors, including the café where JK Rowling wrote her captivating Harry Potter novels. Of course, this intriguing city has much to recommend it outside of its literary appeal, with everything from historic monuments to parks and gardens and even the famed Royal Yacht Britannia.
