"Nice for 1 night"
We stayed here for one night because we had an early flight the next morning. It was a clean dorm style room with no frills. Just what we needed to rest our heads a bit before our early departure.

"Well located hotel and excellent staff"
The hotel is perfectly located for those coming in to Point a Pitre on the ferry. A short walk to Place de la Victoire, staff who helped with planning travel arrangements. Good value for money.

"Wonderful area, but needs a little care."
When we first arrived we couldn't have been more welcomed. I had to remember this is not a high up scaled island. When we got to our room we were very disappointed in the look. The mattress was torn up, the shower was broke, the furniture was falling apart. When we talked to the clerk she said we would have talk to the manager in the morning. I had to realize this was not a super club resort and put it perspective. When we went to the front desk in the morning he gave us keys to two other rooms to look at. They had the same look that's when we had to just be happy and enjoy the island. The manager said he would have them take care of the problems in our room. When we came back everything was repaired and the mattress was changed out. The kitchen had the basic you need, microwave, coffee pot dish's. One really nice feature was a washer which was super nice to have. The water was hot and air was cool. With the way the hotel staff treated us we would stay again they made you feel great. The staff also speaks some English and will try to explain the best they can. Which was a great help to us as we spoke very little French.

"No wifi is a big problem"
The first clerk was wonderful, polite, helpful, friendly; when we went back to get other info, the woman who replaced him was rude and unfriendly and condescending, as we should know already what she knew. We asked for the wife code; she told us that only one device per room is allowed to get wifi access (!! - we have two kids and our own needs). She "generously" gave us two codes, but neither worked and nothing could be done about it, so we couldn't look up restaurants, museum times, flight times, etc. How can a hotel function like that these days? The hotel is a secure compound with a gate for the parking lot, which fills up. We were very worried about a car blocking our way out when we had to leave at 5:45am, since they don't take license plate numbers and wouldn't be able to identify whose car was blocking, which room the owner was in. Security seems to be a concern but we had no problem ourselves. I used the large pool, which I very much enjoyed. The facilities in general are rather old, but functional. The Wifi issue and rudeness of the second clerk troubled our stay. Just down the hill is the marina with alot of restaurants. The aquarium is in easy walking distance; the Memorial ACTE museum of slavery in the Americas is a short drive (and beautiful, very informative museum). In the morning, our car was not blocked in and we got to the airport in time. Otherwise, the room was great, with a loft landing, and a terrace / outdoor kitchen. Nice bathroom, etc.

Pocket Guide: Saint Felix Grande-Terre 2 stars Hotels

With its white-sand beaches, rolling hills, and coral reefs, Grand-Terre remains the most frequently visited of the Guadeloupe Islands, and tourists snorkel, dive, or fish in the pristine waters of the Caribbean Sea. For land activities, play a round of 9-hole at Golf International of Saint Francois, visit one of the island's casinos, or dance the evening away at a local nightclub.
