I knew something was fishy when I searched for hotels in the area and NOTHING came up with 4 stars or better. I instantly started getting squirmy. Not that I am a hotel snob but I feel that at my age 45 I do not have to stay in substandard places. I have had to many "what's this" moments and I am not a good traveler to begin with.
I booked this hotel in part by name recognition and by pictures. I thought it couldn't be too bad. I scanned some reviews but moved passed them. Now the important stuff:
Outside area was clean and did not look run down.
It was next to Cracker Barrel even though I didn't take advantage of the wonderful breakfast they have.
Parking lot was clean and convenient.
Lobby was clean and decorated nicely.
Luggage carts were plenty and at the front door ready to go.
Staff was super nice. Responded right away when my wife called for an extra blanket. We have had bad experiences asking for stuff after check. Our blanket was delivered with in 5 mins.
The room was clean, cool and scent free.
Beds looked and were super comfy with white fluffy cotton comforters. Not that nylon junk that slides off.
Bathroom was clean with a operational shower head that was just right.
Towels were clean and scent free(they didn't smell like an industrial dryer)
Curtains kept the room dark
The room was quiet and free of environmental noise.
The breakfast was incredible. I passed up Ihop and CB and was happy my wife talked me into it. Everything was there and included.
