"Well located but unusually sited..."
Hotel is 10minute slow walk to cathedral so generally well located. It's specific site is 'astride' the old city wall which forms part of the building. However, this also means it's next to the ring road, in fact it forms one corner of the outside of the roundabout. Not really a problem but a couple of heavy lorries could be felt. All 3 of us (including 3.5 yo son) slept well in the honeymoon suite, so no real issue. Breakfast great and room above average with comfy bed and large en-suite.

"Very good B&B close to Whitstable and Canterbury "
Excellent hosts and very good breakfast. Very close to Canterbury town yet away from the hustle and bustle. Goods views of the cathedral from the family room. Nick and John are doing a fabulous job of running this B&B

"Good location, easy walk to town"
The hotel has more of a B&B feel which was really nice. Our room was on the top floor if the main building, the room itself was lovely with a 4 poster bed. The only downside was there was only a bath but no shower. It was a lovely free standing bath but it took a long time to fill as the water pressure wasn't great. It was also very difficult to get the temperature of the water correct. Breakfast was great. Full English. They have have a swimming pool which we didn't use and also a spa which did massages. There was a car park with quite a few spaces although it was quite tight but as long as everyone parked courteously there were no issues. I would stay again

"Charming hotel next to Marlowe theatre"
This was my 80th Birthday celebration treat and we were not disappointed. Our room was 28 winding narrow steps up but the Staff helped us with our cases with a smile. The two restaurants were good, Dems particularly. Excellent and delicious food well presented. Very good breakfast served until midday. Will recommend to all our friends

"Reliable hotel on outskirts of Canterbury"
It's an economical choice compared to others in the area on a Bank Holiday weekend. Low rise building is functional & standard for a chain. Rooms clean and well presented - our double also had a sofa-bed. Staff were pleasant but it's "self service" e.g. for a taxi, you take a card & make the call yourself. Evening meal was good - I had the chicken curry which was tasty. Breakfast was buffet style & very crowded - not a great layout. The downside is that the hotel is listed as "Canterbury" but is about 5 miles outside the city, on the A2 which is a major road. Probably fine if you had a car but we'd travelled by train. Taxi to town was £10 in & £15 back out later - it would have been better in hindsight to have paid more & stayed more centrally! Bus only ran hourly (& not at all on Sunday) and the stop was a 15 minute walk away. Nothing locally apart from a petrol station with mini store & an uninspiring pub 20 mins away.
