"Aston Kaanapali Shores"
This is our second time at this place. Love the area very convenient, right across the street is a grocery store Times, so you could easily buy what you need and you have a kitchen so if you like you can cook. There is also an ABC store nearby which is where you should get your souvenirs since its quality at a cheaper price. As for the hotel they have a newly renovated pool which is always a hit for kids like mine, the beach front is a little rough with rocks so really need your aqua shoes. But you can easily walk a little bit to the next hotel and theirs have less rock. As for service it's excellent people are very friendly and really shares their Hawaiian spirit.

"Family friendly"
We were out most of the time, pool is excellent and also hit tab. For the 10days we stay I would expect at least one day of cleaning such as vacuming the rooms, dusting and changing the sheets. I felt a little dirty after few days. All in all our stay was great. I love your gardens.

"Hotel grows on you"
When we first checked in at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel, we thought we had made a terrible mistake. We had reserved a non-smoking room and called the night before to confirm. Initially we were put on a smoking floor, but the desk clerk did switch us--but I had to be quite pushy about it. The room we ended up with was in the older, original building which has no elevator. The room was a little dated, but comfortable--except that there is NOWHERE to hang wet clothes/towels. The hotel has only two places to eat--the pool grill (Do NOT eat here as it is gross and expensive) and a nicer restaurant. The regular restaurant is pricey and the food mediocre, but the nightly entertainment is fun, a throwback. The beach here is nice, but expect there to be days when you can't swim due to rip tides and a large surf. The hotel becomes sort of charming with its tiki theme. Pros: Nice beach Comfortable rooms Cute, throwback feel with Tiki decor Beautiful beach Nice housekeepers/clean rooms Beach towels provided Nightly entertainment is fun Cons: Staff is not particularly friendly or helpful (on a day when the orange flags were out--can't swim--we went to concierge for ideas. She hurried us through and was very unfriendly. Front desk staff also was not overly welcoming) Nowhere to hang wet clothes/towels Pool grill is absolutely disgusting so food options are VERY limited without leaving the hotel

"Great views"
When I entered it was very clean and I felt comfortable right away. The sliding door didn't have a screen and we had a lizard be our roommate. The front desk said they were good luck, gentle creatures, and the eat the mosquitos. I would stay here again.

"Great condo rental experience"
When I got in, they must not have had availability for a studio suite, and so I was upgraded to a bigger room. This could have biased my positive experience since it naturally exceeded my expectations. To summarize, though, great place to relax. Close to the beach, a bigger plaza down the street for quick shopping, a smaller plaza right next door for quicker shopping. The suite was expensive, comfortable, well-lit and relaxing. Great balcony. Great wireless. Several pools nearby for a quick dip. What I really appreciated was the activity orientation on your first morning to let you know what there was to do and see, and they could book it all right there. It was interconnected to the Eldorado, which made customer service awesome, whether it was payment, rescheduling, confirming etc. etc. I didn't have time to research things before the trip, and that really helped.

Pocket Guide: Maui Island Kaanapali 3 stars Hotels

Kaanapali is a prime vantage point for viewing humpback whales, which swim by December to May. The town’s whaling history is displayed at Whaler’s Village, a shopping complex and museum. Visitors also can experience the area’s farming past by riding the Sugar Cane Train, a restored steam locomotive. Snorkelers and divers can enjoy the coral reefs and fish that thrive in nearby Black Rock Beach.
