"Excellent location, very handy to all local transp"
The staff were excellent, always helpful etc. We would suggest that the Showers which are quite cramped for room would be better if they were fitted with flexible shower roses. Also each room needs to be fitted with a light above the bed. The lamp beside the bed is only useful for the person that side of the bed.

"Good budget hotel."
We were pleasantly surprised how good it was for the price. Our room was clean and tidy and very comfortable after a big day sight seeing. Renovations were going on but that wasn't a drama, although our buffet breakfast had to be moved down the road. Overall a good place to stay and I would go back.

"Safer than the trains and cheaper than a taxi"
I needed a solution to getting on the grog in Sydney then getting back to the Macarthur in one piece. The George Street Hotel was that solution. It was cheaper than getting a taxi home and safer than catching the train and way less gross than the Night rider bus. I left my phone charger behind after checking out. A quick phone call and the staff secured my charger and held it for me to pick up. I thought it would gone for sure. I only have nice thought of the George Street Hotel now!

"Old building charm"
I decided to stay in this hotel as it had a central location in the city where I was going to a wedding reception. For the purposes of an accurate review I would have had to have been in non-inebriated way, unfortunately I was not. The wedding reception was awesome, there was much free booze and many selfies with an assorted collection of unknown people were taken. I would most likely have been able to sleep on a bed of needles with a brass band playing but fortunately I managed to make my way back to my room. I like buildings with charm and character and that is what this had, this does mean that certain other things may suffer, 2 shower/baths per floor for instance. I strode down the corridor with undies in hand and towel concealing my parts which should remain concealed; to a group of swedish backpackers. Naturally I stuck out the chest and sucked in the gut and said "hello" in my most Sean Connery-esque voice,. I am sure I saw a twinkle in at least one ladies eye. If you are a uncomfortable wandering hallways with little in the way of clothing on then maybe a room with ensuite is the way to go.

"A great location"
The hotel is perfectly located with easy access to birth Town Hall and Museum stations. It is accurately described and depicted on the website. The rooms are small, so if your someone who likes to spend time chilling in a hotel room, this place isn't for you. Refrigerator is s great addition for partial self catering, but why would you bother-there are dozens of eateries of every type and kind with a block either way. They are a little paranoid about not setting off alarms by leaving the bathroom door open while showering, but you just have to be careful. My only criticism was that they did not follow their own guidelines about changing sheets. Very friendly and efficient front desk.
