"Great location in Downtown"
A very busy hotel with a wait time to check in, However, the busy atmosphere is a positive. There is a life and vibrancy to the staff. Once in the room there is quiet and and peaceful atmosphere. I stayed on the business level and the room was spotless. My only disappointment was the club lounge. There were great views and fantastic service but the room needs renovation to match the business level fee.

"Surprisingly nice hotel ! "
Wanted to get away to TO for a few days to see a few plays. Normally stay in hotels closer to Yonge St. and the Eaton Centre but Expedia had a GREAT deal on this place I really couldn't pass this place up.Was a little leary with it being on Jarvis St as this area used to be one of the areas frequented by b-girls. Check in was no problem and when I went up to my room ,I was blown away with the place! I ended up with one of the mini suites which had a king sized bed. The bathroom was modern with a shower stall instead of a tub but that was not a problem as I don't do baths. The room came equipped with a small fridge as well as a microwave which was handy as I would buy food at the Loblaws around the corner to cut down on costs a little. The bed was great, nice and firm with soft linens and a thick warm duvet. There is a restaurant in the hotel and looking at the menu posted in the elevators, seemed quite reasonable price-wise. I didn't know the place had a pool and Jacuzzi until after I came home and looked this place up again on Expedia's site. Underground parking was available and price - wise was on par with other hotels in the area. I had no problems with the wifi at all, logged on once and was always connected after that. I have read many reviews of this place and I cannot believe that the other people who have given poor reviews were talking about the same place.

"Reasonable location, room cold and drafty"
I stayed on the second floor (one up from ground) in a room with floor to ceiling non-opening windows overlooking a busy street with lots of pedestrians who could easily look in. No shears/net curtains, no blinds, just a heavy curtain. And the glass was thin enough that I could feel the cold pouring in, and could hear when people were talking on the street, so it was noisier than I like. It didn't help that the heating was set on 15 when i arrived but it never did get really warm - the heating wasn't powerful enough to combat the draught I think. The floor is wood, which is a plus over carpet because it's easier to clean. There was no breakfast or room service, but there are tons of restaurants nearby. I like that you get a fridge but there's no microwave. Studio 6 isn't that far away on Grange and is probably better value but not so recently renovated. They're both two or three star hotels. It was nice that there was an elevator & the wifi worked well. Bed was OK. The "rain" shower is fun and maybe trendy although I wished for a bath really. The instructions on the 'phone were wrong (don't dial 9 for a local or long distance number, just dial the number). I booked at short notice and it was relatively inexpensive.

"Cool room, interesting design, loud ventilation "
The restaurant and bar is great. The room was nice with an interesting industrial feel. Well insulated against outside noise on Spadina. One big problem: we couldn't sleep because the heating/ ventilation was super loud when it came on and ran loud as well.

"Great Hotel, Great Location"
Stayed at the Gladstone from 12th - 18th February 2017, on a short break with my husband. It’s a fantastic old hotel, full of character with a great bar/restaurant serving a good selection of beer and an interesting menu. There are good bars and restaurants within easy walking distance if you want to get out and about. The hotel is well positioned in a trendy/edgy, out of town location but within easy tram ride of the city. The tram stops are right outside the hotel, really convenient. The hotel hosts art exhibitions and has some interesting artworks on display The staff were very helpful, polite and accommodating. The rooms are all individual and designed by different designers. I had seen some of the rooms on the website and they all looked fantastic unfortunately, I hated the room we were allocated (305) it was a lilac 1970’s teenagers themed room. It was hideous. I think every other room is quite attractive – just unlucky I guess. Also, the bed was a bit small and very squeaky which was annoying. Just to add to that, our view was of a supermarket. Having said that, on the plus, the room was clean and very quiet and peaceful even when there were events on in the bar. I would definitely stay there again but not in 305!

Albert was very helpful. Arranged our Niagara bus tour within minutes. No hassle. Great access to city metro. Walking distance to Little Italy and more. Great city. Cab service at end of metro lines can extend the reach of the very good metro covering all the primary sites.
