The beds are horrible because they are sunken down but the front desk was awesome. We were very tired so they let us get to our room earlier than the normal check in time.

"Nice little apartment between 3rd and 2nd Avenue."
The address on Expedia was one street off. Don't forget that the advertised price does not include the tax (you'll find it out when you are booking it; over 30% on top of the hotel fee). The hotel charges the entire balance right away (not half as Expedia said). No one is answering / returning the phone call on the number that Expedia gives, but the day before your check-in someone contacts you via email, so you better check your email. Still no phone number, I had to specifically ask for it. Had to wait in front of the house for the keys. No elevator, fortunately, our apartment was on the 1st floor. The place had 3 windows, one to the air-shaft, two to the back. No air-conditioner, we opened two windows to make a cross-draft and listened to the other apartments' air-conditioner units humming all night, lol! Plus we bought a small fan (there was none in the apartment). Otherwise, for the price and the location (which is great!) the apartment was nice and pretty quiet by New York standards I guess. Had a fridge, stove/oven, sink and dishes. No coffeemaker (had a teakettle), no microwave or toaster. No dish towels to dry the dishes, no place to let the dishes drip off. There was WiFi, but it had a password, so don't forget to ask for it, before it gets too late at night to wake the caretaker up for something like this. We stayed for five nights, and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Best service you will receive in NY, they really care about their customers and take care of them like family. It's always great having household amenities in a place you aren't familiar also.

Pocket Guide: New York Upper East Side 3 stars Hotels

Of all the superlatives used to describe the Upper East Side, one word is apt: richest. Some of the city’s wealthiest residents live in the high rises that line Fifth Avenue. Be prepared to spend an entire day at the Museum of Metropolitan Art. Both a physical and art-world behemoth, the Met is home to several masterworks, from an intact ancient Nubian temple to post-modern color studies.
